Linda Marie Yarwood, 74, passed away at home in Unicoi, Tennessee on January 14, 2026 after

many years of illness. Linda was born in Endicott, New York on July 17, 1951, to the late John

"Jack" and Rita (Reardon) Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 53

years - the love of her life - Edward Yarwood. Ed and Linda shared an extraordinary and

unending love, so it is fitting that Linda's death came on the one-year anniversary of Ed's

passing.

Linda is survived by daughters Kristine Yarwood of Unicoi, Tennessee; Kathleen Zakharov

(Anton) of Jacksonville, Florida; Maryellen Yarwood of Camillus, New York; Patricia Jones

(Travis) of Melbourne, Florida; and Julie Yarwood of Bismarck, North Dakota. She is also

survived by grandchildren Hannah, Brady, Willa, and Jack Jones. In addition, Linda is survived

by twin brother Jerry (Lynn) Morris, brother Joe (Sandy) Morris, sisters Sheila (Paul) Blume, and

Jenny (Michael) McNabb. Linda leaves a large extended family and community of friends to

cherish her memory.

A lifelong learner, Linda graduated from Seton Catholic High School in Endicott, New York and

Syracuse University, with a B.S. in Special Education (summa cum laude) and M.S. in Early

Childhood Development. With many years working in early childhood education, inspired by

having a child with developmental differences, Linda was devoted to giving children the

knowledge and tools that could make them stronger, happier, and more capable.

Being active in her church was an important part of Linda's enduring love of God. Most recently,

Linda was an active member of Hopwood Christian Church in Tennessee. She was blessed

with a beautiful voice that she shared as a member of the Liverpool Community Chorus as well

as multiple church choirs. She spent countless hours playing piano, her daughters all around

her, singing together. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery. Pieces she completed are displayed

in homes of numerous friends and family members, in addition to hanging in Liverpool, NY,

Johnson City, TN, and Unicoi, TN fire stations. Linda was a voracious reader, instilling in all of

her daughters a deep love for books and new knowledge.

The family will receive guests at Hopwood Christian Church, Milligan College, TN 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2026 with a Christian celebration of life to immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section) at 2 p.m. Monday.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Linda's sister-in-law Mary and her husband John
