Linda Lorraine Powell Garland, 77, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at the residence of a sister, Phyllis Crain after a brief illness. She was born November 29, 1947 in Elizabethton to the late Elisha & Mary Garrison Powell. She had worked several years at Hermitage Health Center as a CNA. She loved dealing with Crafts and going to Estate Sales. She was a member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother: Lucille Powell, her husband of 48 years, Michael Garland who passed away June 2, 2024, her daughter: Wendy Garland, by three brothers: Robert Powell, Larry Powell and Timothy Powell and two sisters: Barbara Fraley and Iva Jean Hyder.

Survivors include her granddaughter: Sierra Buckles, Three Great Grandchildren: Payton Buckles, Aldlynn Buckles and Avery Buckles. Three Sisters: Phyllis Crain, Cleo Hicks and Brenda Rasmussen and Two Brothers: Randy (Loretta) Powell and Pooner (Neci) Powell. Several nieces & nephews including a special niece: Ann Holt. Her three legged furry buddy "Maggie".

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eric Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Garland Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Melvin Myers, Kimmy Stout, Kevin Stout, Rondal Lowe, Randy Powell, David Myers, Pooner Powell and Dennis Grindstaff. The family would like to express a special thank you to the 2nd Floor Staff, Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the staff at Amedisys Hospice for the excellent care she received.
