Obituary

Lennie Mae Hill Woodby, 91, Hampton went to be with her Lord Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her residence. She was born May 1, 1932 in Unicoi to the late Earl & Millie Stanley Hill. She was employed in The Home Health Department, she had served as a care giver for a number of years. She was a Godly woman and was a blessing to her family and her church family. She enjoyed cooking and taking it to the sick people in the community. She also enjoyed her flowers. Lennie was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church but attended First Free Will Baptist Church, Limestone Cove. She was very active in her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years: Glen H. Woodby who passed away July 30, 2008, three brothers: Stanley, Dayton and Junior Hill, two sisters: Sandra Hyder and Thelma Corby.

Survivors include two children: Steve (Gaylene) Woodby and Angie (John) Fair. Two Grandchildren: Shawna Hill and Doug Woodby. Five Great Grandchildren: Dakota Wilson, Skyla Hill, Ariea Hill, Gracie Whisenhunt and Makayla Woodby One Brother: Dean (Rebecca) Hill, One Sister: Lurlia Snapp. Several special nieces and nephews. Her Sisters-in-Law; Roma Hill & Ama Jean Phillips, her brothers-in-law: Dennis Woodby, Alvin (Sue) Woodby, Ken (Linda) Woodby, Van Woodby and Harold Corby.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2024 in the Woodby Cemetery. With Pastor John Stockton and Pastor Dexter Brummitt officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Saturday will be: Dakota Wilson, Doug Woodby, Catlin Hill, Justin Burrell, Dean Hill II, and John Fair, Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dennis Woodby, Alvin Woodby, Paul Vance and Dr. Benfield. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:45 a.,m. Saturday.
