Larry James Morton, 77, of Unicoi, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 29, 2023. He was born on May 13, 1945 in Unicoi County, Tenn. Larry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from the ExRay Department of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father and mother: John and Emma Jean Morton, his twin sons: Billy Jack and Bobby Jack Morton and Larry Junior Morton. Larry attended Keystone Free Will Baptist Church, Johnson City.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years: Mildred Carver Morton. Two Grandchildren: Bodee and Miley Morton. Also several cousins.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 12 Noon Saturday, February 4, 2023 in the Carver-Cochran Cemetery (Hampton) with Pastor Tony Birchfield. The Smith family will be in charge of music. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Saturday will be: Bodee Morton, Jack, Ned, & Josh Smith, Ed Morton, Curtis Morton, Landon Lingerfelt, Julius Tolley and Eddie Meyer. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dexter Brummitt and Albert Ellison. A special thank you to Missy Honeycutt is Caregiver. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
