June Treadway Estep Benson, 99, Elizabethton went to be with her Lord, July 28, 2024 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Harrison and Sallie Gay Nave Treadway. She was also preceded by husband Maynard Estep in 1986 and Husband Robert Benson in 2013; a sister Maude Nidiffer and two brothers: Ira and Eston Treadway and an infant brother Junior Treadway, a nephew, Jack Treadway, a nephew-in-law, Rev. Johnny Combs, a niece-in-law, Thelma Treadway and a step son-in-law Eddie Buckles, a nephew-in-law, Howard Butler, a special sister-in-law, Lorine Ornduff Treadway. She was a member of Siam Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Training Union for several years. She was a very hard worker all her life, especially in her yard with her flowers. She loved her family more than anything. She was a former Deputy of Trustee of Carter County, a retired Interviewer for U.S. Department of Commerce, working in five states and as supervisor of Bookkeeping Dept. of Carter County Bank, retired twice.
Survived by a step-son Richard Estep and wife Frances of Alburn, Alabama, a step-daughter, Shirley Ann Buckles of Elizabethton, a step granddaughter, Tracy Buckles; step-grandsons: Lance Buckles, Elizabethton, TN and wife Glenda of Elizabethton and Jeffery Estep of Alburn Alabama; step Great Grandsons, Christopher Buckles and wife Morgan of Piney Flats, TN and Jeremy Blevins, Misty Hill (Tom) Elizbethton, TN; step great great grandchildren: Cameron and Eloise Buckles of Piney Flats, TN and Mackenzie Blevins of Elizabethton. A niece, Gloria Jane Combs-Butler of Elizabethton, a nephew: Jesse B. (J.B.) Treadway of Bluff City, TN a niece-in-law, Diane Treaway of Elizabethton; a great niece: Charli Treadway and fiancee, Alan Kyker of Elizabethton, four great nephews, Jamie Combs and wife Jennifer of Elizabethton, Jody Combs of Elizabethton, Brandon Treadway of Elizabethton and Brian Treadway and wife Gina of Blountville, TN. Two great great nieces, Milliicent Danielle Combs of Elizabethton and Yasmin Treadway of Johnson City a great great nephew, Savion Lytton of Johnson City, two step great nieces, Jeannie and Joy of North Carolina.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 in the Treadway Cemetery (Garrison Hollow) with Pastor Jack Roddy and Pastor Brian Hollaway officiating. Music will be provided by Bill Anderson. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Saturday will be: Jamie Combs, Jody Combs, Brandon Treadway, Brian Treadway, Jeffrey Estep, Lance Buckles, Alan Kyker, Gene Wilkerson and Christopher Buckles. Honorary Pallbearers will be neighbors, friends of Carter County Bank and members of Siam Baptist Church. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Jonathan Bremer, the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the Staff of Caris Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Siam Baptist Church, 2414 Siam Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
