Joseph August Lacus, 75, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born August 20, 1949 in Holyoke, Mass. to the late George D. Lacus, Sr. and Pauline St. Laurent Lacus. He had served in the United States Marine Corps. Joe had lived in Carter County for 20 years. He had worked in the Asphalt Construction Business. He attended the Harvest Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: George D."Butch" Lacus, Jr., Mark S. Lacus and a sister: Christine Lacus.
Survivors include his siblings: Robert Lacus, Belchertown, Mass., MaryLynn (Roger) Bliss, Granby, Mass., Paul (Susan) Lacus, Elizabethton, John Lacus, Holyoke, Mass , Matthew Lacus, Holyoke, Mass. and Pauline (David) Sadler, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating. Military Honors will be provided. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DAV % Sam Rogers, 1601 Scenic Drive, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
