JoAnn Smith, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born July 28, 1941 in Bluff City to the late Frank and Pearl Bullock Carr. She was retired from the Iodent Corporation. She was a member of the Bunker Hill Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. She was also preceded in death by five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Survivors include her husband: James H. Smith. Three Children: Nena (Dawaine) Stanbery, Amy (Bo) McCready, and Marcy (Benny) Baird. Three Grandchildren: Jenny (James) Harrell, Brandon (Hannah) McCready and Tyler (Ariana) McCready. Five great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers, also several nieces and nephews. A Service to Celebrate the life of JoAnn will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2025 in the Bunker Hill Christian Church with Mr. Grant Foster and Mr. Brad Perry, Ministers officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section). The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
