Joan Marie Whaley, 65, Johnson City, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 in the Franklin Woods Hospital. She was born May 28, 1959 in Amsterdam, New York. She had lived in Tennessee since 1994. Joan was a 1977 graduate of the Fultonville High School, New York. She graduated from Casavona College in 1979. Joan was an employee of the Johnson City Post Office having worked there for 22 years as a mail carrier. She loved her family very much and also her animals. She was preceded in death by her father: Robert Reynolds. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years: Charles Whaley. Three Children: John Robert  Whaley, Anna Marie Whaley and husband Lanndan Miller. and Zachary Ross Whaley. Two Grandchildren: Greyson and James Whaley. Her Mother: Edna Fletcher Reynolds. Her Sister: Judy DeMagestris. Her Brother: Robert Reynolds. Her four  legged furry friends:" Rocky, Max and Maverick".

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel Pastor Ken Houser officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024 in the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Jonesborough. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Monday will be: John Whaley, Zachary Whaley, Lanndan Miller and family and friends from the Carter County Sheriff Department. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff & friends of the Johnson City Post Office. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Staff of the ER, Franklin Woods Hospital, members of the Carter County Sheriff Department , family and friends for all the support shown during her illness. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Monday.
