James "Jimmy" Ward, 83, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at his residence unexpectedly. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Jady & Janie Blevins Ward. Prior to his illness he was employed at several factories in the area. He loved to go fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Delane Ward, One Daughter: Pansy Slagle and Two Sons: Dean Bailey and Kenneth Bailey, Two Great Grandchildren: Stormie Ward and Brandon Richardson, Three Sisters: Nyoka Ensor, Diana Carden and Alice Hyatt and Two Brothers: Delmer Ward and J.D. Ward. He was a Christian and was of the Holiness Faith.

Survivors include His Children: Jimmy Lynn (Shirley) Ward and Teresa Williams. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Terry Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in the Lyons Cemetery. Music will be by Cody Honeycutt and Shirley Ward.  Active Pallbearers will be: Tm Lyons, Josh Ensor, David Rutter, Noah Ensor, James Ensor and Daniel Murray.
