James Earl “Snook” Richardson, 82, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at his residence. He was born July 15, 1944 in Carter County to the late Stacy & Emma Oliver Richardson. He was a 1962 graduate of Unaka High School. James was employed at Inland Container for several years and retired from Snap-On-Tools. He loved guns and hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Granddaughter: Sundra Melisa Campbell, One Sister: Lula Bell Holder and Two Brothers: Gene and Bobby Richardson. James was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and the Mens Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years: Kathy Grindstaff Richardson. One Son: Brian (Dianah) Richardson. One Grandson: David “Bo” (Jessica) Campbell. Two Great Grandchildren: Ryleigh Chapman and Chloe Campbell. Several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Eric Heaton officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026 in the Hurley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Mens Sunday School Class, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Saturday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
