James Randall Pierce, 68, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026 in the Life Care Center of Gray. He was a native of Carter County and was a son of the late Martin Pierce, Jr., and Verdie Mae Williams Pierce. He was a graduate of Unaka High School. James had been disabled for some time. He loved NASCAR Racing, going to flee markets and loved his animals Bo and Bonnie. He attended Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister: Brenda (Gene) Campbell, Three Brothers: Jerry (Joy) Pierce, Lynn (Rita) Pierce and Michael Pierce and the late Sue Pierce. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rodney Deyton officiating. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday will be: Kevin Campbell, Marcus Campbell, Mason Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Justin Pierce and Jerry Pierce. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday in the funeral home prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
