Obituary

James Lonnie Lowe, 82, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at his residence. He was born February 20, 1944 in Elizabethton to the late Steven & Belle Grindstaff Lowe. He was a 1962 graduate of Unaka High School. He was retired from J.A. Street and Associates as a Carpenter and Concrete Worker. He loved hunting, fishing and sports. He enjoyed attending every family, school, and sporting event for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite title was “Pappy”. He was a child of Christ and a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Myrtle Estep, Mary Cole, Steve Lowe, Jr., Jemema Ensor, Charlie Lowe and Wilma Williams.

Survivors include his Children: Shane Lowe and Stephanie Lowe. His Grandchildren: Dylan Lowe, Beth Lowe, Kaley Connell, and Kirsten Woosley. Great Grandchildren: Lane Lowe, Stetson Lowe, and Raylan Lowe. Several Nieces and Nephews including special niece, Priscilla Davis and husband Ed.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the Grindstaff Cemetery (Stoney Creek) with Pastor Eric Heaton and Pastor Doug Hartley officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday.
