James Richard Ellis, 98, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Sarasota, Florida and had lived in Tennessee for 31 years.He had served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a retired Construction Engineer. He was a member of Carter Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years. Three Children, Six Grandchildren and four great grandchildren. His four legged buddies, his dog "Hank" and his cat "Blackie"

Graveside Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 28, 2025 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section). Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of James to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38101-990.
