Jack Roberts, 95, of Elizabethton, entered the arms of his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2024 at the James. H Quillen Veteran's Hospital surrounded by his family. Jack was born July 02, 1929 to the late John and Julia Sanders Roberts. He was preceded in death by his brothers Carroll and Joe Roberts and his sister, Ruth Rogers. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army and continued serving in the Army Reserve. He owned and operated Jack Roberts's Grocery in the Gap Creek Community for a number of years. In retirement he worked construction and various wood working projects. He was a long time member of the Roan Street Church of God.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 Years, Betty Jo Winters Roberts, sons Jackie (Connie) Roberts, Jim (Lori) Roberts, daughter, Karen (Gene) Vance. Grandchildren Cody Vance and Whitney Roberts, sister Ann Randolph and a very special nephew and wife, Sam and Mabel Rogers.
A service to Celebrate the Life of Jack Roberts will be conducted at Roan St. Church of God on October 29, 2024 at 7 p.m. with Pastor Ken Bewley and Pastor Jody Bewley, officating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5-7 p.m. Internment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and Friends are asked to be meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Pallbearers will be Jackie Roberts, Jim Roberts, Cody Vance, Sam Rogers, Hunter Nelson and Chris Sims. Honorary Pallbearers will be his longtime friends of the Roan St. Church of God. DAV Chapter 39 Honor Guard will be providing military honors.
