Hubert Eugene Buchanan, 75, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born May 26, 1950 in Carter County to the late Delbert & Ora Dyson Buchanan. He served in the United States Marines. Hubert was a Car Enthusiast. He owned Buchanan's Auto Ulphostery and Stateline Auto Sales.  He was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church where he helped teach the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. He was a former member of Carter County Gideon's. He was preceded in death by several brothers & sisters: Myrkie, Lois, Loretta, Dorothy, Bill, Jim and June Bug and daughter Stacy Johnson Buchanan.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years: Marietta Waldrop Buchanan. His Children: Steven (Laura) Buchanan, Step-Children Wendy (Bobby) Ward and Stacey Ingram. Eight Grandchildren: Myrissa, Allison (PJ), Corey, Austin, Kylie, Matthew, Maegan and Eva. Three Great Grandchildren: Amia, Mason & Jackson. Pet Companions Gracie and Angel and Several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Teddy Lewis officiating. The Eulogy will be by Stacey. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbeares will be: Jeff Guinn, Bobby Ward, Cody Pierce, Noah Barnett, Mark Simmons and Jacob Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Matthew Buchanan, Corey Buchanan, PJ Barbosa, Ted Burleson, Josha Runkles and his church family. Military Honors will be provided. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
