Hazel I. Clemons, 85, Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 in the Hermitage Health Center. She was a Carter County native and retired from Happy Valley High School, where she taught 10th Grade English. She was also a member of East River Park Christian Church. Mrs. Clemons was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Ruth Dailey and Helen Irick and one brother: Vernon Irick.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Coy Roger Clemons. Four sons: Scott (Devona) Clemons of Johnson City, TN, Thomas Clemons, Tracy (Dawn) Clemons and Marc (Leann) Clemons all of Elizabethton, TN. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Destanie (Ryan) Sweeney, Anjolee Clemons, Derick Clemons and Nicholas Clemons and one great grandchild: Arthur Sweeney and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family may register their presence at Memorial Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 06, 2024 from 9- 5 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, March 07, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Justin Stauffer, Elder, East River Park Christian Church, officiating. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Hermitage Health Center and Leona Ledford for the support and care shown to Hazel during her sickness. Honorary Pallbearers will be all her former students. Family and Friends are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. prior to the service to go in procession to the cemetery.
