Gladys S. Blevins, 93, Roan Mountain went home to be with her Lord, Friday, June 23, 2023 at the Waters of Roan Highlands, Roan Mountain. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Mary Alice Lyons Simerly. She was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family, gardening and quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul A. Blevins, two sons: Denver & Danny Blevins and five sisters and three brothers. She was a member of Morgan Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include Two Sons: Rev. Richard (Wanda) Blevins, Johnson City and Doug (Tina) Blevins, Hampton. Five Grandchildren: Marci Bailey, Mark Blevins, Andrew Blevins , Beth Blevins and Amanda Christman. Six Great Grandchildren: Marina Bailey, Lilianna Blevins, Elias Blevins, Alexus Blevins, Brayden Christman and Isaballa Christman, Two Sisters: Ruby Shoup, Taylorsville, North Carolina and Billie Birchfield of West Virginia. She is also survived by two daughter-in-law: Carol Blevins, South Carolina and Creola Blevins, Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Gladys Blevins will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating. Interment will follow in the Captain Nelson Cemetery with Rev. Greg Whitehead officiating. Music will be provided by Garrett Birchfield. Active Pallbearers will be: Gary Bailey, Mark Blevins, Scotty Johnson, Bill Highsmith, Tim Johnson and Rick Stanley. Honorary Pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special appreciation to the nurses and staff of Waters of Roan Highlands for taking special care of Gladys. Special thanks to a dear friend Valerie Davis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
