Georgia E. Jaynes, 92, Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John H. & Sarah Norris Smith. She was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. Georgia was retired from the Nursing Department at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She loved fishing and camping. She was a member of the Slagle's Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Jaynes, her daughters: Sheila Jones and Willa Warren, a brother: Melvin Smith and a sister: Lucy Renfro.

Survivors include her sons: Brad (Patsy) Jaynes and Bill (Sheila) Jaynes, Jr.  Three Grandsons: Justin Jaynes, Brandon Jaynes and Tyler Jaynes. Three Granddaughters: Melinda Sexton, Billie C. Renshaw and Trinety Shimmel. Several great grandchildren

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2025, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Berry officiating.  Interment will follow in the Norris Cemetery, Butler. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Active Pallbearers will be: Bill Jaynes, Brad Jaynes, Justin Jaynes, Brandon Jaynes, Tyler Jaynes and Tony Cook.
