Gene Cleve Dykes, 81, Mountain City, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Arvel & Ruth Bishop Dykes. He was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. He was a retired Construction Worker. Gene had lived in Florida for several years before return ing to Mountain City six years ago. He loved fishing, hunting and going to Flea Markets. Survivors include a sister: Sue Bennett. Three Brothers: Arvil Dykes, Jr., Donald Dykes, and Dean Dykes. Several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. With Pastor Dean Presnell and Mr. Harold Campbell officiating. Music will be by Gary & Pam Tolley. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday will be: Dean Dykes, Josh Bowman, Jon Booth, Gary Tolley, John Hammitt and Darrell Greer.
