Fred Winfield Johnson, 60, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born July 19, 1965 in Carter County, to the late Leroy Johnson & Carol Alutz. He was a graduate of Hampton High School in 1983. He served in the United States Army and the National Guard, he also served in the United States Air Force. He was a Concert Rigger. He loved fishing and camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Tracy Lynn Davis Johnson who passed away December 28, 2024, a sister: Alesia Johnson and his Grandmother: Alice Wharton.
Survivors include His Step-Son: Teddy Orton & wife Jess and his sons: Craig Johnson and Troy Johnson & wife Hannah. Two Sisters: Stephanie Johnson and DeAnna Johnson. Nine Grandchildren: Kaylee Johnson, Noah Johnson, Ezra Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Greg Johnson, Dante Johnson, Gideon Johnson, Josiah Johnson and Teddy Lee Orton. Several nieces and nephews. His special friends: Frankie & Lahoma Martin, Kelly Stout and Cotton Nidiffer.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Fred will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rusty Verran officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service. Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2025 in the Johnson Cemetery (Mill Pond Road). Active Pallbearers will be Frankie Martin, Schyler Buchanan, Payton Oliver, Troy Johnson, Zakk Johnson and Jonathan Pleasant. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the staff at Tennessee Oncology for the excellent care he received. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
