Freada Carolyn Whitson, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 in the Lakebridge, A Waters Community. She was born June 6, 1941 in Elizabethton to the late James L. and Hollie Wallace Grindstaff. She was a 1959 graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State College. She was employed at North Side Hospital for 23 years as a registration Clerk. She was a member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church. She loved Flowers, Cooking and Yard Work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Brian Whitson, One Brother and Four Sisters.

Survivors include here husband of 65 years: Bobby Whitson. The Daughter she never had: Debbie Sparks and husband Steven. Two Great Nephews: Chris and Jason Taylor. One Great Great Nephew: Kasen Taylor. Her special friend, her hair dresser: Kathy Lethcoe.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic Section). Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
