Frankie Russell Whitehead, 89, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully at her home on June 2, 2026. A life long resident of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Ephram and Retta Honeycutt Russell. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Her number one priority was her family and taking care of everyone. She loved to cook for her family, work in her flowers and enjoyed quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Whitehead, her sons, Jim Whitehead and Jeff Whitehead and 10 of her 11 siblings.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Helen and Ronnie Wagenseller and Cindy and Shannon Scalf., 9 Grandchilden, 17 great grandchildren and a great great grandson; a sister, Marie Blevins, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A private graveside service will be conducted to honor Frankie. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Frankie’s memory by making a donation to St. Jude’s, as this was something she was always passionate about.
