Frank Joseph Hicks, 88, Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was the son of Joseph and Rosie Odom Hicks. Frank was retired from Snap-On Tools after 20 years of service and continued to work after losing his arm on the job in 1979. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Clarence Hicks and Henry McArthur Hicks and one son-in-law: Travis Scalf. He was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton. He loved his church family and collected antiques. He never met a stranger.,
Survivors include One Sister: Birdie Odom and one brother: Homer David Hicks. His Children; Gary Hicks, Donna (Vinny) Reddy, Lori Pierce and Rosella Scalf. His Grandchildren: Robyn Reddy, Saghel Reddy, Koty (Jordan) Scalf, Katlyn Scalf, Kyndal Scalf and Kymber Scalf. His Great Grandchildren: Jaxon, Ellie, Mason and Walker.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 5, 2026, in the Stout Cemetery, White Oak Mountain, Butler with his nephew Michael Odom officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home Sunday afternoon 12 to 5 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation in memory of Frank to First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643. Thank you to the staff on 2nd floor at Sycamore Shoals Hospital and to Michael Klaus, Minister at First Christian Church for your care and support.
