Fern Jean Sneed Gentry, 80, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024. A native of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late John & Edith Campbell Sneed. She worked at the Forestry Service for several years. She worked in the Gift Shop at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was of the Christian Faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Johnny & Timothy Berry, her brothers & sisters: Perry Sneed, Faye Black, Johnny Sneed, Steve Sneed and Sharon Hilton.

Survivors include a Son: Curtis Berry, Elizabethton, Seven Grandchildren: Harley, Haley, Hannah, Amanda, Beth, Crystal & Timmy. Also numerous great grandchildren. Three Siblings: Wayne ( Susie) Sneed, Phyllis (Garry) Whittemore and Dorothy (Charlie) Casey. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Whitehead and Shane  Whittemore officiating. Graveside Service and Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in the Grindstaff Cemetery, Unicoi. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday.
