Evelyn JoAnn Deloach Odom, 73, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Howard Deloach, Sr. and Clara Marie Holden Deloach. She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was a member of Valley Forge House of Prayer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Henry Deloach and William Deloach, Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years: Roger Odom, Sr. Two Daughters: Remetha Dawn Loving and Rebecca Dianne (Melvin) Simmons all of Elizabethton. A Son: Roger D.(Kathy) Odom,Jr. Hampton. One Sister: Teresa (R.L.) Hambrick, Elizabethton. 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Allen Simerly and Pastor Tim Hughes officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in the Patton-Simmons Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Wendell Loving II, Logan Loving, James Cates, Ronald Odom, Jonathan Odom, Kristopher Simmons, Michael Simmons and Jerry Humphrey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Her Church family, Richard Yeager and Greg Miller. A special thanks to Dr. Nick@Karing Hearts Cardiology, Dr. Jeff Gaca, Duke Medical Center and Melissa Baumgardner RN, Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Forge House of Prayer, 118 House of Prayer Road, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
