Elmer Ray Jarrett, Johnson City, passed away on January 22, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 18, 1956 in Banner Elk North Carolina. Left behind is his beloved wife, Jackie Jarrett. They were married for 32 years. He is proceeded in death by his father, R.E. Jarrett. His mother, Hazel Jarrett, is still living. He had 4 siblings. Two sisters, Ruth Woffard, (husband Brian), Naomi Ollis,(husband Todd), and 2 brothers, Ronnie, (wife Sandra), and Kenneth, (wife Juanita). His 3 children were, Chad Jarrett, (wife Lori), Erin Jarrett, and Sarah Woodby, (husband Anthony). He had 5 grandchildren, Morgan Jarrett, Michael Jarrett, Makayla Jarrett, Lane Woodby, and Walker Woodby. He had 2 great grandchildren, Elizabeth and William Jarrett. He had many neices and nephews. He was raised in Roan Mtn. He served at Unicoi Rock Quarry for 42 years, where he left as the superintendent. He was a 32nd Master Mason and a Jericho Shriner. He spent his life working hard everyday, and he took great pride in his family. Being able to spend time with family and go on vacations were important to him. Fixing antique tractors and going to tractor shows were things he enjoyed. Going to the farm to tend to his sheep, cats, and his dog Lassie were also things he looked forward to each day. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Recieving of friends will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel, January 24th, from 5-7pm and service to follow lead by Pastor Richard Sheppard. A private graveside service will be held at Moreland Cemetery on Saturday, January 25th at 2pm. Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at Saint John's Freewill Baptist at 1:30.
