Obituary

Earl Wayne Gentry, 65, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born July 5, 1959 in Carter County. He was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was retired from Bosch Brake & Wheel, Johnson City and was presently employed at the Bristol-Bluff City Water Department. He loved horseback riding, hunting and farming. Earl attended Centerview Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father: Kayo Gentry.

Survivors include his wife: Jan Guinn Gentry. His Mother: Betty Hampton Gentry. Two Brothers: Royce and Noel Gentry. Several special nieces & nephews. His special children in his life: Lydia Lovelace, Gracie Humphrey, Nicholas Humphrey and Colten Grindstaff. Also his special aunts & uncles. His special four legged furry friend: "Sadie" also his riding companion "Buck"

Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in the Hardin Cemetery (Butler Hardin Road). Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery will be: Keith Ingram, Tim Ward, Keith Trivett, Kevin Bryant, Allen Bryant, Lee Fleming, Robert Bowers, James Roberts and Teddy Elliott. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Scott Elliott, Sandy Bradley, Lydia Lovelace, Gracie Humphrey and Joe Guinn. Special Music will be by J.P. & Leona Mathes. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
