special thank you to Nick Nance and the Staff of Johnson City Medical Center for the excellent care she received.
Donna was very active in church her whole life. She grew up at Biltmore
Baptist and later served at Harvest Baptist. Since 2008, she was a very
faithful and active member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and
loved her "church family" dearly.
Above all, Donna loved her Lord with all of her heart and served Him in so
many ways through the years. She loved the Word of God and was a member of
the Sanctuary Class and enjoyed fellowship and activities with the Senior's
Group.
Donna loved music and singing. She assisted with playing the piano and
loved to worship and sing with The Praise Choir. She was usually one of
the first one to practice and loved singing and building friendships with
her "soprano sisters".
Donna loved cooking and served as the Cooking Group Director for many
years. She used this special talent to supply meals to countless families
who had a death, were recovering from sickness, or just needed
encouragement. Donna and Clyde delivered meals to so many families.
During the pandemic, they would fix meals and put them on the porches of
those who were stuck at home. She would invite you over for lunch or dinner
and her kitchen was a place of hospitality, ministry, and love for others.
Even though her house was heavily damaged in the recent flood, she would
always say there is someone that needs help more than us.
Donna was a "hidden saint" in the Church always serving behind the scenes
and putting others before herself. She would get to know those around her
personally and would initiate a friendship. Once she knew you and your
family, she would pray for you and check on you with genuine concern and a
deep sense of caring. She used her time and her phone to check on and
encourage countless people through the years.
Donna's selfless love and concern for others made a lasting and incredible
impact on her church family and community. She loved everyone!
Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
