Donna Kay Hopson Odom, 70, Elk Park, North Carolina went home to be with her Lord, Friday May 8, 2026 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born January 5, 1956 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Abe and Macie Cook Hopson. Donna was a graduate of Avery County High School and attended Mayland Community College, Spruce Pine, North Carolina. She worked at Wells Fargo Bank for many years. She loved dealing with antiques, going the flea markets, going shopping and loved animals. She attended Zion Baptist Church, Gap Creek.

Survivors include her husband of 48 ½ years Danny, One Sister: Anita Pritchard, One Brother: Walter (Linda) Hopson.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Donna will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Caleb King and Pastor Doug Bare officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Park Cemetery, Elk Park, North Carolina. Active Pallbearers will be: Allen Odom, Charles Odom, Randy Pritchard, Justin Pritchard and others who will be there. The family would like to express a special thank you to Eddie Odom and Pastor Alan King and all friends and cousins who come by to see her.
