Donley Banner, 83, Hampton, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 peacefully at home. He was born May 19, 1941 in Carter County, to the late Roy and Lula Marlowe Banner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two daughters: Beth and Pam Banner, two brothers: Jack Banner and Quinton Banner, one sister: Marie Waycaster.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years: Katie Banner. His Daughter: Donna and husband Darrell Williams. Grandson: Chris Whitehead. Two Brothers: Robert Banner and Bob (Jill) Burrow. One Sister: Ethel (Duane) Guinn. Several sisters and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews. Also a special friend: Ray Arnett, as well as many others.

Donley lived with grace, humility, and a steadfast devotion to those he loved. His legacy of wisdom, compassion and strength will remain a cherished art of our lives.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Coonse officiating. Interment will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Carl Harrison, Tony Townsend, Josh Smith, Ned Smith, Jack Smith, Carlos Lambert, Terry Banner and Ray Arnett. The family will receive friends 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. The family would like to thank all of the visits, calls, food and prayers, as well as Dr. Bremer and Dr. Gilliam during his illness.
