Diane Ward Scalf, 70, Johnson City, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026 at Franklin-Woods Hospital, Johnson City. She was born February 22, 1956 in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Diane was a graduate of Avery County High School, Newland, NC. She was retired from Citi Bank, Gray after 35 years of service. She loved to bowl and for years was an avid cat lover. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Ward and her son: Ronnie Scalf.

Survivors include her mother: Billie Johnson Ward, Elk Park, NC, Her Significant Other, Rick Roller. One Sister: Rebecca Kaye Ward, Elk Park, NC. One Brother: Otis Dean Ward, Elk Park, NC. One Niece, One Nephew and many cousins and friends as well as her many cats.

Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Tony Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Winters Mountain View Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Music will be by Wendy Norman. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
