Cynthia S. Smith, 74, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Tuesday March 3, 2026. She was
surrounded by her family as she closed her eyes for the final time here on earth and opened
them in Heaven.
Cindy was born on February 21, 1952, to William and Blanche Smith in Sumter, SC. In her
youth, Cindy shared her musical talents with others, singing in a band, and playing in her
high school band. Cindy graduated from Winthrop University and went on to have two
sons, who she dedicated her life to loving and nurturing. Cindy went on to obtain her
master's degree in accounting from ETSU and eventually retired from Blue Cross Blue
Shield of South Carolina to move to Tennessee to be the greatest Grandmother (Lulu).
Cindy loved her family fiercely and dedicated her life to sacrifice for them. Her love will
perpetuate into eternity, and her continual support of her family will carry on for
generations. She spent her final weeks caring for her ailing mother, continuing the legacy of
nurturing. She loved to attend her grandsons' sporting events, never missing a game,
cheering and encouraging, perpetuating her unwavering support. Cindy had a beautiful
smile that lit up the room and uplifted others wherever she went.
Cindy was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church and served as a member of the
choir. Her faith directed her life and her commitment to serving others will forever be
remembered.
Cindy is survived by her two sons, Garrett and Kyle, her daughter-in-law, Desiree Smith, her
beloved grandsons, Levi and Isaac Smith, her two brothers, Richard and David Smith and
her sister, Becki Bradham. She was preceded in death by her father, William C. Smith and her mother Blanche P. Smith.

A Service to Celebrate the life of Cynthia will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2026, in the Fairview Baptist Church, Watauga with Pastor Gary Roe, Pastor Doug Hartley and Pastor Allen Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church, 585 Watauga Road, Watauga, Tenn. 37694.
