Curtis Wade Hyder, 84, Hampton passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. He was born November 9, 1941 in Adrian, Michigan to the late Arnold and Ruby Bennett Hyder. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a graduate of Hampton High School. He was retired from Snap On Tools. Curtis was a member of Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. He was an avid UT Football Fan and loved the out doors. He was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; Keith Hyder.
Survivors include his wife; Helen Hyder. Two Children: Chad “Bo” Hyder and Amy (Chad)Livingston. One Grandson: Jaydon Livingston. One Sister: Dianna White, One Brother: Lowell Hyder. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026 in the Blevins Cemetery (Stoney Creek) with Pastor Doug Hinshaw officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 p.m. Friday will be: Chad Hyder, Chad Livingston, Jaydon Livingston, Greg Boehm, Marty Hyder and Dylan Trussler. Honorary Pallbeares will be: Hershel Scalf and Roy Miller. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
