Connie Stout Helms, 79, Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Johnson City Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born October 19, 1946, in Elizabethton to the late Hyder and Mabel Cordell Stout. Connie was a graduate of Hampton High School. She was employed at First Choice Pediatrics, in Johnson City for 43 years. She loved to watch her grandkids play ball, loved to read and loved to travel. She was a member of West View Baptist Church, Kingsport. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Deane Ingram.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years: Ray Helms. One Daughter: Christy (Russell) Riddle. A Step-Son: Tony (Wendy) Helms. Six Grandchildren: Allison Riddle, Alex Riddle, Jonathan Helms, Ella Helms, Gari Kaye Helms and Rachael Black. One Great Granddaughter: Tracy Black. One Sister: Lesia Goodman, One Brother: Pastor Michael Stout. Several nieces and nephews. A Special Bonus Granddaughter: Loran Campbell
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, in Happy Valley Memorial Park with her Brother: Pastor Michael Stout officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Russell Riddle, Alex Riddle, Adam Stout and Tony Helms. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Doctors and former Doctors and Staff and former Staff of the First Choice Pediatrics of Johnson City. The family would like to express a special thank you to her church family for all their support and prayers during her illness. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West View Baptist Church, 1037 Fairview Avenue, Kingsport, Tenn. 37660.
