Cecille R. Blevins Watson Church, 91, Bluff City, TN, formerly of Castlewood, VA, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 at The Waters Bristol of Blountville, TN.

She was born May 18, 1933 in Dante, VA to the late Daniel C. and Lillian Holliman Blevins. She had lived in Johnson City, TN for many years, having worked at Burlington Industries until she retired at age 65 and then moved back to Castlewood, VA. She was president of the Lyons Club and a member of the Red Hat Club, both of St. Paul, VA, for several years. She loved to write poetry and songs of which her most well-known included "One Drop of Water" that was recorded by Ralph Stanley. She was a Christian and a member of the Hamlin Baptist Church, Castlewood, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Meta Watson Roberts, a grandson: Garrett McConnell, six sisters: Violet Turner, Hazel Butler, Edith Forrester, Florine Williams, Rosa Mae Wilder, and Pauline Blevins, and three brothers: Bob Blevins, Fred Blevins, and Howard Blevins.

Survivors include four children: Linda Darlene Watson (Mike) Perry, Bluff City, TN, James E. Watson, Johnson City, TN, Jennifer Watson (Dave) Wooten, Lexington, NC, and Karen Watson McConnell, Johnson City, TN, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to friends, Virginia Steffey, Craig Mullins, Jennifer Bryce, Rhonda Patrick, the staff of American House Bristol, TN and the staff of The Waters Bristol.

Graveside Services and Interment for Cecille R. Blevins Watson Church will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in Temple Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum, Castlewood, VA with Rev. Scott Moore officiating. Family and Friends will meet at the Cemetery.
