Carl "Doodle" White, 85, Butler, went to be in the presence of his Lord, Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Johnson City Medical Center. Carl was born November 10, 1937 to Charlie and Warnoma Hodge White. He was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation for 30 years. He made the roads especially clean in the winter and took much pride in his work. For his performance of duty, the State of Tennessee honored him with the Carl "Doodle" White Memorial overlook Park. Carl also joined the National Guard at the young age of 16 years old. Doodle was an avid NASCAR fan, also loved to fish and hunt. In his younger years he enjoyed racing his own cars.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Carolyn Campbell White after 60 years of marriage, two daughters: Patricia Fannon and Sharon Cable, two sons: Bobby "Buzz" White and Dale Mitchell White, one sister and one brother.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter: Barbara White Edney, two sons-in-law: Gurney Ray Pilk and Jerry Cable. His Grandchildren: Becky, Brandon, Justin, Heather and Barry, Great Grandchildren: Zach, Autumn and Breanna. Great Great Grandchildren: Everleigh, Marley and Dawn. Several sisters and his special brothers: George and Wife Judy and Perry White. Carl was loved very much by his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a Graveside Service at Campbell Cemetery, Butler at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023 with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Ronnie Campbell. Active Pallbearers will be: Doug Hatley, Dennis Campbell, Justin Cable, Barry Edney, Craig Dugger and Zach Ford. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jerry Cable, Gurney Pink, Jim Smith, Matt McKinney and Danny Simmons. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday.
