Bobby Jack Hicks

January 18, 1937----March 17, 2026

Bobby Jack Hicks, 89, of Hampton and Clinton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, and was reunited in Heaven with his beloved family and friends. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Charles Garfield and Ida Belle Ellis Hicks.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley White Hicks; Sisters: Pauline Elliott, Florence Jennings, and Bonnie Stout and brothers, James Hicks, Albert Hicks and Harold Dean Hicks.

A graduate of Elizabethton High School, Bob proudly served in the United States Navy for three years as a fireman, including a tour in the Pacific while stationed aboard the historic USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. Following his Military Service, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Sears, from which he later retired.

Bob was an avid musician who found great joy in playing both acoustic and electric guitar. He had a deep appreciation for Southern Gospel and Classic Country Music. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughters: Teresa Kramer (Bert) of Erwin and Lorie Smith (Mike) of Zionville, North Carolina; Grandchildren: Cherity Swift of Johnson City, Wes Holtsclaw of Elizabethton, Lynsi Nave (Tim) of Erwin, and Sarah Moore (Ryan) of Elk Park, North Carolina; Great- Grandchildren: Ethan Bennett, Sophia Moore, Lily Gilbert, Rhett Moore, and Jaxon Gilbert; his special companion and devoted caregiver, Carolyn Dail; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Dail for the love and care she provided to Bob over the past several years.
