Betty Lucille Ward, age 79, Johnson City passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Hermitage Health Care in Elizabethton. Betty was born on March 7, 1946, in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Howard and Ada Cannon Ward. She was known for her warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with and cooking for her family. She was also known for her outstanding personality and for her sense of humor. She had many friends near and far and maintained those friendships over her lifetime. She was a graduate of Cranberry High School. She attended Martindale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Harold and David, a sister Janie, her only son, Bryon C. Jones and her husband of forty-nine years and father of her four children, Alfred C. Jones.
She is survived by her daughters: Angie (Danny) Page, Grandview, Tn., Gina (Mark) Allen, Jonesborough and Christy (Scott) Bowers, Unicoi. Her Grandchildren: Ashley (Dustin) Boyett, Haley Jones, Jayson Allen and Jayden Allen. Her Great Grandchildren: Jack, Charlie, Blayton and Brileigh. Her Sister: Diana Gouge, Brother: John Ward. Several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Monte Vista Memorial Park with Chaplain Randall Holmes. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Amedisys Hospice of Carter County and the Staff of Hermitage Health Care for the excellent care she received. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
