Betty Jean Chambers Street, 82, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord February 2, 2026 at Hermitage Health Center. She was born May 8, 1943 to the late Bud Chambers, Sr. and Sally Teague Chambers. She was a graduate of Hampton High School. Betty was retired from the Hermitage Health Center as a Cook. She was a faithful member of the Old Path Free Will Baptist Church, Piney Flats. Her hobbies were working in her flowers and garden, she was also putting peoples name in her prayer book,. She loved to let her light shine for the Lord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Robert "Bill" Street who passed away August 7, 2022, by a daughter: Cindy Street Perkins and three brothers: Bud Chambers, Jr., Bill Chambers and Rob Chambers.
Survivors include her son & daughters-in-law: David Wayne & Hope Street. Four Grandsons: Braiden, Jacob, Nathan and Hunter and one Great Grandson: Miles. Two Sisters: Elsie Doty and Teresa Carrier. Several nieces and nephews. Her four legged furry buddy who she took ridding with her most of the time "Babe".
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Betty will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jerry Conkin, and Rev. Charles Russell. Interment will follow in the Captain Nelson Cemetery with Rev. Bill Highsmith officiating. Music will be by Parker Street. Active Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Scalf, Kevin Scalf, Kevin Russell, Chuck Russell, Tyler Street and Greg Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Her Grandsons, Her Great Grandson, Mike Chambers, Tony Street, Joe Hill and her church family. The family would like to express a special thank you to Juanita & Doug Miller, Paul & Pansy Smith, John & Christine Dethrage of Missouri and the staff of Hermitage Health Center and the Staff of Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our web-site www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
