Betty Joyce Fair Shaffer, 93, passed peacefully from this earthly life into eternal glory on May 16, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and devotion to family touched the lives of many. She cared deeply for those around her and will be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Eston D. Shaffer and wife Mary Shaffer; daughter, Sheila R. Oliver; son-in-law, Hank Green; grandchildren, Rachel and Jason D’Angona, Jason and Molly Oliver, Dwight Shaffer and Stacy Holly, Russell and Candice Shaffer, Darla Williams, Elijah and Ashanti Foster, and Joshua Foster; great-grandchildren, Keyanna, Kaleb, and Amelie D’Angona, Evangeline and Eliza Oliver, and Izzabell, Serina, Saria, and Melanie Foster; sister-in-law, Janice Fair; special nieces and nephew, Julie Fair, Dwayne Fair, and Carrie Cagle; as well as many beloved cousins, extended family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Hiarm Fair; her brother, Doug Fair; her daughter, Melanie Green; and her beloved husband, Eston F. Shaffer.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 1:50 p.m. at the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Betty’s legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
