Betty Louise Cook Johnson, 74, Roan Mountain, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Franklin Woods Hospital. She was born July 2, 1950 in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Melvin and Norma Street Cook. She had also lived in Pennsylvania for several years. She was a homemaker. She loved Crafts, Crocheting, Sewing and she loved her grandchildren. Betty attended Sugar Hollow Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 53 years: Maynard Johnson. Five Children: Bobbie Barnett, Billie Oliver and husband Joe, Rebecca Johnson, Kathy Johnson and Isaac Johnson. 14 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. Four Brothers: Stokes Cook and wife Carol, James Cook, Robert Cook and George Cook. Also several nieces and nephews. She also loved her cats.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in the Strength and Everlasting Love Free Will Baptist Church, 136 Smith Branch Road, Roan Mountain with the Rev. James Hill and Rev. Marvin Sheets officiating. Interment will follow in the Holtsclaw Cemetery, Dark Hollow Road, Roan Mountain. Active Pallbearers will be: Dustin Smithey, Dakota Barnett, Derek Pritchard, Joe Oliver, Isaac Johnson and Wayne Baker.
