Obituary

Becky Cable, 87, Watauga, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 in the Hermitage Health Center. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late James and Julie Linville Roop. She was a retired employee of Tennessee Chair Factory. She loved to crochet and quilt. Mrs. Cable was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Cable, a step-daughter: Wanda Kilgore and two brothers: Charlie & Bill Roop.
Survivors include her daughters: Diane Cable, and companion, Mike Ward, Watauga, Susie Combs, Johnson City and Lucy Babb, Limestone. One Son: Clyde Roop, Elizabethton, Tenn. Her Grandchildren: including a special granddaughter, Amy Harrell, also Susie Rutledge, Raymond Roop, Billy Combs, Ray Combs and Jennifer Treadway. One Great Granddaughter: Emma Grace Rutledge. Her Sisters: Bessie Davis, Ethel Cole and Letha Triplett. One Brother: David Linville. Several Nieces & Nephews. Her Special Friends: Marie Oxendine and Linda Glover. Her special friend and room-mate, Dorothy Merritt,
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Richardson and Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 in the Garland Cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday will be: Mike Ward, John Fletcher, Tom Oxendine, Granville Taylor, Dallas Williams and Frank Richardson. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Staff of Hermitage Health Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
