Barbara Sue Rhea Peters, 69, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth & Ruby Maines Rhea. Barbara was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She loved Sewing, Crafts and working with children at Childrens Church at Grace Baptist Church where she was a member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Peters, who passed away February 4, 2023 and her son James Edward Peters, II who passed away July 29, 2009.

Survivors include her daughter & Son-In-Law: Shonna Peters-Harvey (Trevor)

Four Grandchildren: Meghan (Josh) Potter, Morgan Boling, Lola Peters, and Paisley Harvey. A Sister: Shelia Parsons, Two Brothers: Kenny (Tonya) Rhea and Alvin (Kathy) Rhea.

Graveside Service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2023 in Wilson Cemetery with Pastor Travis Tyler, officiating. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday will be: Josh Potter, Trever Harvey, Shonna Hardin, Megan Potter, Ed Campbell and David Anderson.
