Michelle Saunders Humphreys, 51, of Rural Retreat, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Michelle was born April 10, 1974 in Abingdon, Virginia. She was a loving wife, mother, and mamaw. After battling liver and kidney failure since June of 2025, she passed away surrounded by loved ones at her bedside. She went home to be with her son, brother, dad, and other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her son, William Kyle Humphreys; two unborn children; father, James Arnold Saunders Sr.; brother, James Arnold "Arnie" Saunders Jr.; and father-in-law, Paul Humphreys Sr.

Michelle is survived by husband, Paul Humphreys Jr.; children, Kandice Humphreys, Brittany Humphreys, and Paul "PJ" Humphreys III; grandchildren, William "Lil Man" Humphreys, Kylie Humphreys,  Paul "Baby PJ" Humphreys IV, Braydon Reed, Miley Smith, and Kooper Smith; mother, Carolyn Cox; sister-in-law, Paula Humphreys; and mother-in-law, Loraine Cummings and husband Steve; and many special loved ones.
